The Blue Diamond Group is pleased to announce that we have acquired Bridgemere Garden Centre from Wyevale Garden Centres bringing our group to a total of 37 garden centres across the UK and Channel Islands. The acquisition includes the freehold purchase of Wyevale Nurseries.

Alan Roper, Managing Director of Blue Diamond, said: "I am personally pleased to be acquiring Bridgemere garden centre and nurseries which I have known since the 1980’s. As a horticulturalist I look forward to restoring its original virtues. The onsite gardens are a treasure trove. We will be utilising the growing nursery to its fullest supplying both Bridgemere and the wider group with lesser known hardy plant species."

We are pleased to announce that we have today completed the acquisition of Nailsworth Garden Centre  from Wyevale Garden Centres, our 30th Garden Centre.

Formerly known as Waterside garden centre it was designed and built by our Managing Director, Alan Roper, in the 90's before he joined Blue Diamond.  It was sold to Kennedys and then to Wyevale when that group was sold in 1998. 

Alan says "I am delighted to have bought it back, it has great potential and there is a great AB1 customer demographic in the area. This business was where I honed the AB1 retail proposition with a point of difference which I then bought to Blue Diamond in 1999. The business had a sizeable restaurant serving home cooked food, a Home, Clothing and Children's offer.  This was over 20 years ago when this type of broad proposition in garden centres was rare. I remember it being the first garden centre to stock the children's toy supplier Brio!"

Over the next three years we plan to invest £16million to remodel and transform them into destination centres modelled around our Redfields Garden & Living Centre in Hampshire, and our Blue Diamond Garden and Home store near Nottingham.
