Tulip Mix Collection
From £7.99 | Available in Blue Diamond Garden Centres from September
Blue Diamond has worked with the National Trust to curate three Tulip Mix Collections. Named after and inspired by National Trust Gardens namely The Emmets Garden, Barrington Court and Hare Hill, these Tulip collections will enable you to add spring colour and interest to your garden without the worry of deciding which colours work best together.
The Emmets Garden
Each year the garden team at Emmett’s Garden plant between 5000-7000 tulip bulbs to replicate and evoke the feeling of the Edwardian tulip meadow envisioned by Frederic Lubbock. This spectacle of pinks, reds, and purples was captured by the owners of Emmett’s on glass photo slides (of which only two remain in existence) in around 1912, and it is from these original slides that the team base their bulb selection today.
Barrington Court
Since the 1920s, Gertrude Jekyll’s design for the Lily Garden at Barrington Court in Somerset has showcased a bold mix of hot colours and statement planting, perfectly captured in this mix.
Hare Hill
The Hare Hill collection perfectly captures the delicate and calming pale pinks and whites planted in the walled gardens.
