Agapanthus

The Agapanthus Collection is inspired by the border planting at Killerton House and consists of varieties in colours from white to deep purple. Agapanthus are known for their impressive, large, globe-shaped flowerheads and are beautiful and reliable summer plants, ideal for both containers and borders.
Karl Emeleus, Head Gardener at Killerton House & Gardens says:
The African Lily (Agapanthus) loves a warm sunny position, where it will provide an exotic display from late Summer into early Autumn. The sturdy upright flowers add important structure to our borders at Killerton and also make excellent cut flowers.
Killerton was the home of one family, the Aclands, from the late 17th century until 1944. In that time the family transformed the great house and its grounds from its late Tudor roots into a grand Georgian, and then Victorian, estate. There are still Tudor elements to be found inside the house, while its surrounding garden reveals Georgian landscaping techniques and stories of 19th-century exotic plant collectors.
